you never know what kinds of meetings/encounters you will have wherever you go...
went to Kino as usual...to get Oricon and just get more books to read....nowadays, am quite lazy to go to the library to borrow...especially when u know tt you may not have the time to return the books...and the possibility tt u can't finish the book on time....
anw, went and bought Ryu Murukami's Piercing finally! haha, been eyeing the book since forever actually but somehow did not buy it..dunno why...Also bought Maid Machinegun coz of the manga element...hehe, and otakus....
but the more interesting thing was what happened afterwards. on the way home, while going up the escalator, a woman standing beside me suddenly asked me if i was a reader. I said yes, and she began telling me about her book. apparently she was a local poet who had released her book of poetry. now, for me, singaporean poets intrigues me because they do have interesting ideas and their poems do tell a lot about themselves as ppl...
and while talking i revealed more about my job and how i have been looking for local writers and poets whose works are easy to read because i was thinking of using them to get the kids to read more...and she was surprised tt i wasn't a student but was otherwise and that was the main reason why she had approached me..haha
yesh, it's the usual reaction that i get....tt i am student still, not an adult...haha..oh well...
in the end, i bought her book..it's cheap actually and i read some of the poems on the spot and they were easy to read but the meaning is deep....
but overall, i was glad to have tt kind of meeting...it's very rare to meet ppl who are brave enough to do thgs that can be potentially hard...
the last time, i met by accident, the sculptor who created those sculptures found at the spore river...the boys who were jumping into the river...and he shared with me many life experiences and stories tt i was very much fascinated by and enthralled...and he even helped us in our research tt time...hooking us up with locals( tt time, we were in Mae Sai, Thailand) for interviews...
now, i meet a local poet, who shared abt her troubles and the reasons for her publishing her works...and her experiences when she published them....
hehe, i like these kinds of meetings because u get to know them in closer terms and in an unpretentious mode...u see the real them and not like when they are giving talks or interviews.....
so all in all, at the end of the day, i came home getting not only 3 books but also a new experience i will rem by
these came.....finally today, i got the chance to open everything...coz most of the weekdays...after coming back from work ard 6 plus, i'll def go straight to the lappie....watch tv while eating (and rush off to bathe and all) until 10pm before gg to sleep....so miss my 2am stints! but now...i can't even last until 11pm...by 10, I am shagged out....and i guess i need the rest considering how i am running ard and not really sitting from like 7am to 4 or 5pm....the life of a sensei is not tt restive ne....

yes....the taxi is becoming my guilty pleasure...
and it's not cheap lar
since i always come out ard peak hr...
always end up paying abt $11...
